New State Pension amount

The full new State Pension is £241.30 a week in 2026/27, equal to £12,547.60 over 52 weeks.

Who gets the full amount?

A post-2016 National Insurance record normally needs 35 qualifying years for the full rate. At least 10 years are usually required to receive anything. Records that began before April 2016 use transitional rules, so 35 years alone does not guarantee the full rate.

What can change the amount?

Contracting out, Additional State Pension, a protected payment, inherited entitlement and deferring a claim can all change the result. Future annual uprating changes the cash amount too.
